National Maintenance & Repair Inc. has been in the engine repair business for over sixty years. We started in the marine business and expanded into railroad industry in the early 1970’s. National Maintenance & Repair Inc. was the first shop to meet all the criteria for AAR M-1003 certification for EMD Block, Engine and Component Repair. We received our first certification on July 1, 1977. We have several employees with 25-plus years of experience in the different aspects of EMD engine rebuilding. We hold our vendors to a high standard of quality. We rebuild most engine components and offer a Utex program as well with an extensive inventory for no lead times. National Maintenance & Repair Inc. remanufactures EMD case and pans in our shop as well as making repairs in the field. We have portable equipment and can make any repairs in the field that we can make in our shop. Our dyno allows us to test run engines before they leave our facility to make sure there are no problems when installed in the locomotive.
